“Name A Character” Contest Terms & Conditions
Binding Agreement: In order to enter this contest, you must agree to the terms and conditions. Therefore, please read these terms and conditions prior to entry to ensure you understand and agree. You agree that submission of an entry in the contest constitutes agreement to these terms and conditions. You may not submit an entry to the contest and are not eligible to receive the prize described in these terms and conditions unless you agree to these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions form a binding legal agreement between you and SimonJenner.com with respect to the contest.
Eligibility: This contest is open to legal residents of their respective countries where not prohibited by law, who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry, who have Internet access, and a valid e-mail account prior to the beginning of the contest period. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. It is a condition of entry that the winner’s name will be used for promotional purposes. This will only be in summary e.g. Joan Smith.
Sponsor: This contest is sponsored by SimonJenner.com. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the contest will be directed to the Sponsor, not Facebook or Twitter.
Contest Period: This contest begins on June 11th, 2015 00:01 GMT and ends on July 3rd, 2015, 23:59 GMT. All dates are subject to change.
How To Enter: There is no purchase necessary to enter or win this contest. To enter the contest, visit the contest webpage located at simonjenner.com/name-a-character-contest/ during the contest period and follow the instructions on ‘How To Enter’.
Entry is restricted to one entry per person. Eligible entry methods include SimonJenner.com, Facebook and Twitter. Automated entries are prohibited, and any use of such automated devices or programs in association with this prize draw will cause disqualification. The sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or stolen entries or transmissions, or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human or electronic.
Judging: Each word count guess will be checked by Simon Jenner and compared to the total words of the Ethan Justice: Guilty manuscript as calculated by Scrivener on July 3rd, 2015 at 23:59 GMT. The final word count in the published novel may change but the winning entry will be determined based on the word count on July 3rd, 2015 at 23:59 GMT. Simon Jenner’s decision is final and binding.
Prize: The winner’s choice of name will be used for a minor character in Simon Jenner’s next book to be published after Ethan Justice: Guilty, which may be from the Ethan Justice or The Evolved series or something completely new. Simon Jenner reserves the right to not use the winning name and ask for alternatives if it is unsuitable for his character. The winner’s choice of name cannot be inappropriate, offensive, belong to a minor or someone famous. All creative decisions regarding the named character and their actions reside with Simon Jenner. No guarantees are made as to the timing of the book’s release. The prize cannot be transferred or substituted except at the sponsor’s sole discretion. The sponsor will not be responsible for any loss, liability or damages arising out of the winner’s acceptance of the prize. The winner will be notified by email, Facebook message or the Twitter platform (depending on the method of entry) on or before 6th July 2015 and must respond within 7 days to receive the winning prize. Should the winner not respond within the given time frame, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. It is the sole responsibility of each entrant to ensure that they will be able to receive, read, and respond to notifications from the sponsor in a timely fashion.
Intellectual Property Rights: As a condition of entry, the entrant grants Simon Jenner a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, transferable, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, distribute, publicly perform, create a derivative work from, and publicly display the chosen character name for any purpose without any attribution or compensation to the entrant.
Waiver of Responsibility or Liability: As a condition of entry and participation each entrant or participant releases SimonJenner.com and its representatives from any and all responsibility or liability in association with the prize draw promotion and use of the winning character name and acknowledges that this prize draw promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any person or entity other than SimonJenner.com. Entrants or participants are providing contact and entry information only to SimonJenner.com.
